BioID+ is built on a simple premise: if an individual can be reliably distinguished visually, our Edge detection machine vision may be able to recognise that individual again over time. From there, additional biological parameters can be estimated or tracked alongside identity.

The “plus” in BioID+ refers to the extra layers of insight that sit around identification. Depending on the species and use case, these may include count, size, sex and selected morphology.

Individual level recognition opens up a different class of insight than simple detection or category level analytics. It creates the potential to observe repeat patterns, track changes through time and derive more biologically relevant information from imagery.

Seaweave’s BioID+ capability is intended for real marine conditions rather than controlled laboratory settings alone. Our work combines Edge machine vision with practical deployment thinking so capability can move toward field ready use.
